The SIRIUS-UL+ machining center impresses with a number of design features developed to ensure high precision during often long machining times in mold making.

• Gantry design with more closed rear wall for X and Z axis mounting, achieving outstanding performance in a compact form factor. Designed without protrusions the gantry system provides excellent accuracy throughout the entire stroke.
• Wide (53 mm) linear roller guides and generously sized 53 mm diameter ball screws integrate seamlessly with the solid Mehanite cast base (12 tons) for rigidity, sturdiness and precision outstanding.
• To ensure high accuracy over long cycle times, the spindle and machine base are monitored at multiple measuring points with thermal probes and heat rise is reduced to a minimum.
• The machine bed is insulated inside and out and the vibrations of the chip conveyor are mechanically decoupled. Spindle deformation at high speeds is also detected and compensated for.
• Hwacheon's unique oil-air cooling system keeps the motor shafts in the bearings and on the housing surface at a constant temperature and provides optimal lubrication.
• The Hwacheon spindle incorporates a motor to limit vibration, noise and any power loss at high speeds. A wide choice of spindles allows the SIRIUS-UL+ to be ideally suited to almost any application and material.
